Thanks for confirming - I'm glad that you have engaged with product managers (kory and valeria) on this - I will leave the responses and follow-up to them on the specific topics you mentioned. We are in pretty regular communication. For the original poster (@SteveJudge) question - I have answered it I believe, but I encourage them to reply if they have any further questions in this regard about the system requirements checker they originally asked about.

@RTPL_AU the issue you are reporting has to do with UI lag and responsiveness. In the past, have you reported your concerns to Esri Support so that teams responsible for the UI can troubleshoot these problems? If you have specific feedback or repro cases, we can ask the teams responsible for these UX evaluate and profile them to determine the cause of the delays.

Greetings, Unfortunately the checker is a web-enabled platform, so offline mode is not supported for it. BUT, we do have a subset of this functionality built into the app, specifically for the GPU itself. The diagnostic is built into the Graphics engine itself. If you open Pro and open a "new global scene" (has to be a 3d view at this time) you will get a "no supported graphics adapter" warning if you don't have a GPU that meets min requirements as reported by the GPU driver. There's details about this warning here: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/3.1/help/mapping/properties/unsupported-graphics-hardware.htm note this uses a different code path than the web checker, but should give similar diagnostics. We have considered adding this to 2d views in the past, so I'll bring that up with the team during our next planning sprint. Regards, Jeremy W.

@JoeBryant1 UPDATE: we have worked with Adobe and also determined that a specific setting in Acrobat causes the display artifacts. One workaround we know of at this time is to have the user uncheck this option. Please see https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/problem-grid-lines-display-in-pdfs-exported-from-arcgis-000022758

I would encourage everyone asking for this functionality to review the discussion here https://community.esri.com/t5/3d-mapping-questions/scene-exporting-to-image-instead-of-vectors-in-svg/td-p/1229801 If you are experiencing a situation in which the scene _does not draw at all_ in the exported SVG - that sounds like a bug and should be reported (and the repro case shared) to Esri Support.

Hi Grace, My colleague @SarahBell sent me a great example of the workflow involved in taking a drawing in sketchup and importing it into Illustrator for restyling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDCdl7yW_iM This illustrates what I was saying earlier - the drawing is no longer 3d, it's converted into its 2d form. It also illustrates the volume of work involved after the fact to achieve even small changes in symbology - exporting the drawing multiple times to remove "blocking' features such as the glass, or features that overlap with others such as trees. While we could consider ways to achieve this workflow in ArcGIS Pro/Maps for Creative Cloud, Pro scenes (unlike sketchup) contain many layer types which are not strictly vector that would greatly complicate even the manual version of the workflow from sketchup. We will also take this as input in terms of future 3d symbolization requirements. Thanks for bringing your workflows to our attention - we will definitely continue to take these requests into account for future versions of ArcGIS Pro and Maps for Creative Cloud.

Grace, Unfortunately what you're requesting (make edges "thicker" on an extruded polygon) isn't possible in ArcGIS Pro. This is documented in https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/3.1/help/mapping/layer-properties/unsupported-symbol-drawing.htm though I believe you should receive a warning in the UI when this happens - I do not see the warning icon on the screenshot you sent. Edges on a polygon extruded in a scene view are always drawn as 1 pixel wide at this time. I'll make a note of this as one use case where a larger size is desired.

It's a great idea conceptually, but getting it to work technically is the truly tricky part within the bounds of what is possible in a 2D vector graphics application like Adobe Illustrator. There's no Z in 2D vectors in this sense (it's only what's on top of other things on the page). While it is possible to sketch over top of an image of a 3D scene (this is akin to "matte" overlays or background techniques used in the film industry) that technique has limitations in that it's not TRUE 3D - scenes which may have some interplay of depth between items will readily show this - imagine a street that passes behind a building, or trees on the nearer side of a street for example. If you find that you frequently need to restyle 3d scenes, at this time I would suggest authoring these styling changes in ArcGIS Pro, and then outputting to AIX to finish the composition in the 2d space.

@SarahBell is correct - an ArcGIS Pro scene view isn't really "vector" anymore in the Adobe Illustrator sense. It's a picture of the scene. Can you give us more info about your use case or why you may want to receive the _scene_ view as an editable vector in a 2d vector editing environment like Adobe Illustrator?

Hi Bryan, This looks like an issue with the geometries of vector tiles drawing inconsistently (flyaways/some of the vertices are in teh wrong place). I noticed you are on an officially RETIRED build of ArcGIS Pro. Please update to a currently supported build and if the issue is still reproducible we will need more specifics about what draws this way (is it all layers? All basemaps only?) and perhaps a repro mpkx if possible. Regards, Jeremy W. EDIT: here's the table showing supported versions of ArcGIS Pro and their lifecycles: https://support.esri.com/en-us/products/arcgis-pro/life-cycle

Thank you for submitting this idea. ArcGIS Pro PDF exports handle transparency differently than ArcMap, namely not flattening all layers that are below a layer with transparency. Additionally, at ArcGIS Pro 3.1, users can choose to rasterize one layer, rasterize many individual layers, or even merge a group of layers into a single raster in their vector export. As there has been no further activity on this thread since 2015 we are closing this request. Further ideas can be submitted against the latest release of ArcGIS Pro. Thank you!

Jonathan, please update to 3.1.2 to take advantage of the latest bug fixes - I do recall there were a few related to export failures.
